Data Health Policy

Last Updated: March 24, 2026

At Conceivable, we believe your health data is deeply personal. It's yours. We're honored that you trust us with it, and we take that responsibility seriously. This policy explains exactly what health data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and what control you have over it.

What Health Data We Collect

Depending on which Conceivable products you use, we may collect the following categories of health-related data:

From the Halo Ring:

  • Basal body temperature (BBT)
  • Heart rate variability (HRV)
  • Resting heart rate
  • Sleep duration, quality, and staging
  • Blood glucose estimates
  • Movement and activity data

From the Conceivable App:

  • Menstrual cycle data (period dates, flow, symptoms)
  • Ovulation tracking information
  • Fertility and pregnancy planning status
  • Lifestyle and habit logs
  • Supplement adherence tracking
  • Goals, preferences, and coaching interactions

From the Conceivable Quiz and Onboarding:

  • Reproductive health history
  • Medical history relevant to fertility
  • Lifestyle factors (diet, exercise, stress, sleep habits)
  • Demographic information (age, height, weight)
  • Pregnancy history and goals

How We Use Your Health Data

We use your health data to do one thing really well: help you understand and improve your fertility health. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Calculate your Conceivable Score — a personalized snapshot of your fertility health based on multiple biomarkers and lifestyle factors
  • Personalize your supplement packs — your formulation is tailored to your unique health profile
  • Power Kai and our 7 AI specialists — our AI coaching team uses your data to provide personalized, context-aware guidance (more on this below)
  • Track your progress — showing you trends over time so you can see what's working
  • Improve our products — we use aggregated, de-identified data to make Conceivable better for everyone

How Our AI Processes Your Data

Kai and our team of 7 AI specialists are a core part of the Conceivable experience. Here's how they work with your data:

  • AI specialists access your health data only to provide you with personalized coaching and insights
  • Your data is processed in real-time to generate recommendations tailored to your cycle, biomarkers, and goals
  • AI-generated insights are based on patterns in your individual data combined with Conceivable's proprietary fertility health models, built on 25 years of reproductive health expertise
  • We do not use your individual health data to train general-purpose AI models
  • AI coaching conversations are stored to maintain context and improve your experience over time

A Note About HIPAA

We want to be transparent: Conceivable is a consumer wellness company, not a healthcare provider or health plan. The Halo Ring is not a medical device, and our app is not a medical service. This means we are not a "covered entity" under HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

That said, we recognize that fertility and reproductive health data is among the most sensitive information a person can share. So even though HIPAA doesn't technically apply to us, we hold ourselves to a high standard of care. We comply with all applicable state health data privacy laws, including Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar consumer health data protections.

How We Protect Your Data

We implement robust technical and organizational measures to keep your health data safe:

  • Encryption in transit and at rest — your data is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (TLS 1.2+) when transmitted and AES-256 when stored
  • Secure Bluetooth connection — the Halo Ring connects to the Conceivable app via Bluetooth Low Energy with privacy features that prevent third-party tracking
  • Access controls — only authorized personnel with a legitimate need can access health data, and access is logged and audited
  • Infrastructure security — we use trusted, SOC 2-compliant cloud infrastructure with regular security assessments
  • Data minimization — we only collect what we need to provide and improve your experience

What We Never Do With Your Health Data

Let's be crystal clear:

  • We never sell your health data. Period. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
  • We never share your individual health data with employers or insurance companies
  • We never use your health data for advertising targeting
  • We never share identifiable health data with third parties for their own marketing purposes

Limited Sharing We May Do

There are a few narrow circumstances where we may share data:

  • Service providers: We work with trusted partners (cloud hosting, analytics) who process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations. They can only use your data to perform services for us.
  • Aggregated research: We may share de-identified, aggregated data with research partners to advance reproductive health science. This data cannot be traced back to you.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, legal process, or government request. We will notify you when legally permitted to do so.
  • With your consent: If you choose to connect Conceivable with another service or share data with a healthcare provider, we'll do so at your direction.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your health data for as long as your account is active and you're using our services. If you decide to leave:

  • You can request deletion of your health data at any time by emailing help@conceivable.com
  • Upon receiving a verified deletion request, we will delete your personal health data within 30 days
  • Some data may be retained in anonymized, aggregated form that cannot identify you
  • We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention), but only for as long as necessary
  • Backups are purged on a rolling cycle, and your data will be removed from backups within 90 days of deletion

Your Rights Over Your Health Data

You have the right to:

  • Access your health data — request a copy of what we have
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your health data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for specific types of processing
  • Opt out of any data sharing for research purposes

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at help@conceivable.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

How Data Improves the Product

When we say we use data to improve Conceivable, here's what we mean: we analyze aggregated, de-identified patterns across our user base to refine our fertility health models, improve the accuracy of the Conceivable Score algorithm, enhance AI coaching recommendations, and develop new features. Your individual data is never singled out in this process — we're looking at trends across thousands of data points to make the science better for everyone.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your health data, we'll notify you via email and/or a prominent notice in the app at least 30 days before the changes take effect. We'll never reduce your protections without giving you the choice to opt out.
